In a move to strengthen the nation’s spin department, the Mohammad Rafique BCB Coach appointment was finalized during the last BCB board meeting on Saturday. Following the meeting, Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, Head of BCB’s Cricket Operations, confirmed the news. Today, Monday (April 6), Shahriar Nafees, In-charge of Cricket Operations, clarified that Rafique’s role is not limited to a single team but will span across various levels of Bangladesh cricket.
As the Mohammad Rafique BCB Coach, the legendary spinner will act as a roving mentor. Shahriar Nafees stated, “Rafique Bhai will work as the Spin Bowling Coach of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. There is a misconception that he is only for the national team. In reality, he will mentor different squads, including the National Team, Under-19, High Performance (HP) unit, and the Bangladesh Tigers.” This wide-ranging assignment aims to utilize his vast experience to groom future spinners.
