Following a high-stakes operation, the Speaker Shirin Sharmin Court Appearance is the highlight of today’s legal proceedings in the capital. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective Branch (DB) confirmed that the former Speaker was arrested from the residence of her cousin, Arif Masud Chowdhury, located on Road 8/A in Dhanmondi. Additional Commissioner of DB, Shafiqul Islam, informed the media on Tuesday (April 7) that she had been hiding there since the fall of the previous regime on August 5, 2024.
