Demanding Fair Rights and Development for Sylhet Region
The Jamaat leader highlighted the long-standing development deprivation in the Sylhet region. He noticed the poor condition of roads while traveling from Dhaka recently. Immediate local government elections can help address these infrastructure issues through proper representation. He urged the government to ensure Sylhet gets its fair share of the budget.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated that they only want their legitimate rights. He criticized the previous fascist influence that still lingers in the administration. According to him, immediate local government elections will help remove these traces of corruption. The party will support good government initiatives but oppose any anti-people policies strongly.
Political Reforms and Constitutional Amendment Proposals
The Ameer discussed the urgent need for constitutional amendments and state reforms. He claimed that 65 percent of people support these structural changes. Immediate local government elections are a key part of this democratic transition process. He expressed concern over the current law and order situation in various districts.
He also mentioned that people are losing faith in traditional politicians. A gap between words and actions has created this trust deficit lately. Immediate local government elections could restore public confidence in the political system. Jamaat-e-Islami plans to continue its movement for a justice-based society in Bangladesh. He concluded by praising the responsible role of journalists in Sylhet.
