Train services have resumed between Chattogram and the rest of Bangladesh. This follows a severe train accident at Paduar Bazar rail crossing in Cumilla. Operations returned to normal after seven and a half hours of suspension. The railway authorities confirmed the restoration of the tracks this morning.

A relief train arrived at the accident spot around 8:30 AM today. It successfully recovered the Dhaka Mail train from the damaged tracks. The team also removed the Mamun Paribahan bus from the rail line. Following these efforts, train services resumed between Chattogram and Dhaka after 10:30 AM.
Manager Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the news to the local media outlets. The accident occurred last night around 3 AM in the morning. A mail train hit a passenger bus at the crossing area. Consequently, train services resumed between Chattogram and other districts with caution.
Casualties and Emergency Response During the Rail Crash
The death toll from this tragic accident has now reached twelve people. Initially, rescuers recovered seven bodies from the mangled bus wreckage. The train dragged the bus for nearly half a kilometer after impact. Emergency units worked tirelessly so train services resumed between Chattogram and the capital.
Fire service, Army, Police, and RAB members joined the rescue mission. They cleared the debris to ensure a safe passage for trains. Passengers faced significant delays due to the temporary suspension of services. Now, train services resumed between Chattogram and the nation is fully operational. Authorities are investigating the cause of this fatal rail crossing collision.
