বাংলাMohammad Imran Hossain, assistant professor of Arabic at Pushpopara Kamil Madrasa in Pabna, has received the national ‘Eminent Teacher Award’ in recognition of his long-standing contribution to education and academic activities.
The award was presented on October 5 at a national event organised by the Ministry of Education at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka to mark World Teachers’ Day 2026. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman handed him the crest, certificate and a cash award of Tk 200,000.
Receiving the Eminent Teacher Award at the national level has brought recognition to the educational community in Pabna. Teachers, students, guardians and local community members have welcomed Imran Hossain’s achievement.
According to Pushpopara Kamil Madrasa, Imran Hossain has been serving as a teacher in the institution’s Arabic department for a long time. Alongside classroom teaching, he has worked to improve students’ skills in Arabic language and literature and to make lessons easier and more creative.
His approach also focuses on students’ knowledge, intellectual development, ethics and human values, rather than academic results alone. According to people associated with the institution, these long-term contributions helped him receive the Eminent Teacher Award at the national level.
The 2026 World Teachers’ Day national programme recognised teachers from different levels of education. Government and media reports said more than 100 teachers were honoured, with recipients receiving a crest, certificate and Tk 200,000 each.
Pushpopara Kamil Madrasa Principal Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman described Imran Hossain’s national recognition as a matter of pride for the institution and said the achievement further enriched its educational tradition.
