  • Fake Freedom Fighter List Cancelled by the government as part of a massive transparency drive. Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan informed Parliament on Wednesday that a total of 6,476 individuals have been removed from the freedom fighter gazette, the ‘Lal Muktibarta’, and the Indian list since the establishment of the National Freedom Fighter Council (JAMUKA).

Verification Process: Fake Freedom Fighter List Cancelled

In response to a written question from MP Akhtar Hossain, the Minister stated that the Fake Freedom Fighter List Cancelled includes many who had used fraudulent information to get into the Indian list. Since August 2024, the ministry has received 842 fresh complaints, and after investigation, 481 more names have been recommended for cancellation. The minister emphasized that identifying non-freedom fighters is an ongoing process based on evidence and public complaints.

The JAMUKA sub-committee conducts thorough investigations and hearings. Once someone is proven to be a non-freedom fighter, their certificates and all state facilities are immediately recommended for revocation. The Fake Freedom Fighter List Cancelled initiative aims to preserve the dignity of genuine war heroes and ensure that state benefits reach only those who truly fought for the nation’s independence.
