Fuel Saving New Government Decision has been implemented to tackle the ongoing global energy crisis. The government has issued a directive for officials across various ministries and departments to participate in meetings, workshops, and training programs via virtual platforms. This move is aimed at reducing fuel consumption and operational costs within the administration.
Digital Governance: Fuel Saving New Government Decision
The Cabinet Division sent a formal letter on Wednesday (April 15, 2026), stating that Fuel Saving New Government Decision requires field-level participants to join programs virtually. Specifically, district-level officials must attend divisional programs, and upazila-level officials must attend district programs through online platforms. Physical presence at meetings should be avoided unless absolutely necessary to minimize vehicle fuel usage.
As part of the Fuel Saving New Government Decision, all Senior Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners have been urged to ensure strict compliance with these instructions. This proactive measure is intended to keep government activities effective while prioritizing energy conservation. These guidelines will remain in force until further notice from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Cabinet Division.
